If people want to make a difference make the difference where it counts and not in token gestures.

Good to see that some of the F1 drivers didn't feel pressured to "comply".
The expression that relates to it all is 'gesture posturing'.

Love you all ...
Of course some homes out of the thousands might have had poor leadership but you really don't have a clue. We went into lock down and stopped admitting visitors except professional ones about March the 10th, a full 2 weeks before the government put the country in lock down. We did that off our own bat as there was no guidance as to what to do. There was no PPE or testing and no literature for us to give to residents, staff and relatives, I know this as we made our own in the office, I did it and sent them out or put them up on the doors. We took all these measures and still lost people to Covid, one floor lost half its residents due to one's with covid being shoved in from the hospitals without even us knowing if they had or not. It makes me laugh that the first port of call you go to is bad ownership/management, I can tell you 100% that even with bad management ALL homes want their residents to survive as that's their money, even at a few rooms below capacity we operate at a loss so the first thought in every care home managers mind will be save the residents, save the income.

Care is a notoriously hard industry to work in and manage. My group have about 6 homes and live in carers which are all lovely homes but even we've been through 4 managers in the 4 years I've been there, it's a very, very hard job. Some managers have been good and some have been bad but they ALL have put the care of the residents as their main priority so this notion there's loads of badly run homes is bollox.

For the LEADER of a country were people have been risking theirs and their families lives for minimum wage to look after the nations relatives to put the blame back of them for his own governments INEPT performance disgusts me. I mean nothing Boris says suprises me, he's a cnut but this did disgust me. Him and Trump are about as Statesman like as my wheelie bin but that's better to look at. How about for once you appreciate that what's been said is grossly unfair and a prime example of his self serving attitude. Its not about left V right, if Starmer had said that as PM I would have been outraged, it's about common decency as a human, have you got any?

... crazy ... still a bit emotional, it appears. However, you don't know some of the care home owners that I know. Of course they all 'care' about their residents; their reputation is a stake and that's how they continue to fill accommodation. But if you knew how SOME of them THINK about residents and relatives your hair might curl. Boris was right - SOME care home owners get/got it wrong - but you can't stand that because it doesn't fit your view of life. Perhaps you're sincere but a bit naive ...

It's easy to point a finger, but when has BJ even looked in the mirror once? When has he made any slightest hint of an apology or even hint of an admission that the Govt has got anything wrong?

'You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.' Matthew chapter 7 verse 5!
