True as in no surprise we lost. We're not ready. We're still learning. And we don't have a strikeforce.
But... I wouldn't rule out top 6 just yet. If we can replicate the two second halves from the last two games into a full 90 we might just get there.
My 433 gamble in my first post looks daft in hindsight, we should have gone 451
It might just be the euphoria of my first game back, but i thought that was quite a good game with the difference between the teams being Hibs having players who know where the goal is, and how to con the ref!
Levitt, Fuchs, Edwards, McMann, Pawlett and Harkes i thought did quite well, but something needs done up top as the player who scored is the only one of the 3 that looked capable of doing so. We started way too slow and made the last set of changes far too late.
Agree, our defence and midfield do ALL the work, they win the ball and create, problem is they have to create chances for themselves cos none of our do called forwards are strong enough or streetwise. Of course when our midfield do what our forwards should be doing this leaves gaps and more often this is when teams punish us.
It's our forwards who are soft as shyte and is the only missing link.
Said it before if we had Shanks in this team we'd be flying, but no the big man thinks McNulty's the answer.
Goalie, defence, midfield is looking good tbh, up front however is the weakest in the league, sort that and top 6 is on
The 20 minutes before they scored their 2nd goal we were on top, that goal came well against the run of play and Levitt was behind all our good play in that period.
Our lack of a target man is our achilles heel and unfortunately we never put a defence under pressure because we are so passive,we never look like scoring.

Maybe as we don't deliver fired in balls from the flanks to the penalty spot /six yard box or from any other areas, on any regular basis, our "forwards" have maybe just gave up. There is no way Shankland turned from the deadliest to the duffest striker in Scotland nearly overnight.
As United supporters we do not expect to be winning every game. But what we do expect is 100% commitment and making sure the opposition know they’ve been in a game. HT I’m not saying we should have been winning but nor should we have been 3 down - that was a travesty and it could have gone south in the second half rapidly. The fact it didn’t and that Hibs frankly were grateful for the final whistle says it all. We still have some way to recover from THAT January transfer window but slowly but surely we are doing so. Rome wasn’t built in a day chaps. KTF and FTD.
Massive problems with our strikers but we all knew that, its already at the stage where i would sanction bringing in a player still unsigned that no club wanted in the summer window, that's how bad it really is.
It could also be argued that if there was VAR in Scotland that game is 2-2 with us in the ascendancy, its criminal that we never even attempted to replace Shankland with even a pysh poor replacement who may have managed a goal occasionally.
When you are millions in debt decisions like extending contracts for Connolly and bringing back McNulty may well come back to haunt us.
