Smith is our only striker guaranteed his place in the starting 11. Sadlier isn't a midfield player he's cover for Chioe but think his best position would be in the no. 10 role behind Smudger. We need 3 able bodies in midfield one of them Lindsay. Edmunds Green isn't our player he's going to go back sometime anyway. Harding is as good. Thing that gets me about loan system clubs can take their players back but as I read it you can't send them back. We need another forward can't see point of Grigg staying he doesn't even get brought on now. 4th choice striker one to go. I would definitely bring Tilt back. Back 3 of Harding Ihiekwe Tilt would be none too shabby. Vickers in goal those adjustments will get our major back no problem!
Not an expert tactically but Warne sticking Sads on won us the Bolton game he was playing behind the front two but conversely it made us 1 light in midfield? Maybe this contributed to us hanging on towards the end
I think Warne should take the credit for going for it but also agree with those who were berating our formation late on Ogbene losing the ball twice instead of going for goal we’d have been better sticking Smith up on his own to hold the ball up
I tend to agree regarding Sadlier. He's best with a "free" role. Whilst not being fast he has incredibly fast feet. Plus he can hit a ball.
He did indeed tilt the balance our way against Bolton. They were just starting to tire and on came Sadlier with his box of tricks.
So it's a conundrum as to how and where to play him. I hear Grus suggestion of playing him behind Smith. It's not the most ridiculous suggestion I've ever heard. But would that impact our favoured high press? Who'd be a manager, eh.
I've posted before that Sadlier is the right player at the wrong club. I continue to hold that belief. I certainly wouldn't be selling or loaning him to a promotion rival in this window.
I wonder how many fans of other clubs, leading leagues around the world, are contemplating changing formation for no reason.
