To add, the game was crying out for Sadlier, has to start on Tuesday.

If he hasn't already signed for Pompey.

He can also cross a ball as well and with both feet from both the right and the left hand sides.
Hardly rose tinted. Brought up on numerous occasions about if only Ogbene could cross etc. Well aware of his shortcomings. The argument I made does work in that how many have said Ferguson hasn't scored enough? Not many of us (if any). Why? Because he is playing wing back and it isn't his job. Ogbene has been playing the same on the other side yet he is expected to score more, why? He isn't playing as an out and out winger like we are used to. You can't use Ogbene's lack of goals against him when he is used as a wing back.

Sadlier has predominantly scored penalties and free kicks across all comps. He scored a few against an u23 team. In the league he has done bugger all. He doesn't play in the big games for a reason. Rose tinted outlooks are for a guy who can take the occasional free kick and strike from the edge of the box (where 90% of attempts go 20 rows back in the stand). He can cross, usually after beating his man 5 times where all defenders are back and set.

Penalties are probably not a good example when comparing Ogbene with Sadlier after Ogbene’s tame effort at QPR last weekend. Equally I love how you trivialise a players scoring from dead ball situations to somehow improve and make your argument. There is no shame in scoring from free kicks, players fight and argue to get on free kicks, it takes a lot of practice and skill to score from then and some of Sadlier’s have been outstanding. As for scoring from open play, his goal against Crewe was also sublime to watch, picking up the balls from 30 yds out and calmly striking into the far corner, the keeper didn’t move!

Scoring a hatrick against Man City is also not so shabby when you consider that their collective value was probably 20 times more than it cost to put our entire squad together.

Bottom line, your analogy was poor and unfair and seriously glossed over a lot of facts.

I'm guessing we lost today because the usual doom-mongers are out in force including those who only ever comment when things haven't gone well 😕. Bit sad really.
Chieo down the middle? Not for me, I'd much rather see Sadlier there. At least he can shoot and wasn't he leading scorer for Doncaster last season?

I'm home now from Fleetwood so I've had another chance to reflect on today.

A loss that shouldn't have happened but, that is football and those you expect to win you lose and those you think might be tough, Pompey 4-0, Sunderland 5-1, you win, football sends you bloody crazy at times but we still love it for whatever it delivers.

We're 3rd or 2nd if you use crash's laptop , either way we have the chance to correct that Tuesday night so back to the drawing board as they say. If Warney gets it wrong on many levels against Lincoln then he's only himself to blame but, I think he's learned a lot form today so must surely be hurting like some of us are.

This isn’t the time for experimental formations

That has got to be Warnie's worst ever post match interview.

Distracted, evasive, no-eye contact and loads of nervous chatter.

    He is worried.

I can't stand Lee Johnson but he has played blinder here. totally unsettled us with this Ladapo situation
