PS - if things have changed, maybe rA could correct me.

Question..... Is Quantuma getting paid £350 * 40 a week OR are they totting up all the hours worked by all their staff during a week and multiplying that by 350?

    I think the latter.

POI, MA...I didn’t use the words ‘13 weeks of paid holiday’. I said 13 weeks ‘holiday’... and 6 /(summer) + 4 (Christmas and Easter) + 3 x 1 week half terms = 13. Really don’t know where his 20 came from but couldn’t be bothered to go into the detail you have when GP has his prejudiced bollux head on.
Suffice it to say that periods of those ‘holidays’ are also set aside for meetings and preparation anyway but I don’t expect that to be understood in certain quarters.

Thanks for the clarification anyway and I’m not disputing the ‘market forces’ argument...I’d just like an accountant to explain what they actually do that is of such benefit to society because, using Quantuma as some sort of yardstick, I just don’t get it.

P.S. Can’t help about the fine detail, MA...been out of it almost as long as you, although I do note that the current workforce tends to be rather less well qualified than they used to be in the interest of cost effectiveness. I imagine the bean counters would approve.

Evasive as ever...but then I suspect I know what you actually do. You help people avoid (never evade) paying tax and help them claim other expenses and entitlements while getting paid a considerable amount for it and actually producing nothing. Your choice, and I accept that, but am I very far wide of the mark?

I would give you 7 out of 100 for accuracy rA. I would characterise the tax related aspects of my work as more ensuring the correct tax is paid, but tax and basic accounting is a quite small part of my business. Most of the work is (in no particular order) insurance analytics, forensics, regulatory / compliance, strategic planning, budgetting and general business advisory, HR consultancy, start up businesses/business planning and import/export. So now you know what I do, but not necessarily what accountants do because there is no simple job description applicable as there are many facets to the profession where I have no involvement.

I have no clue what other expenses and entitlements you refer to might be - I don't work with clients on benefits.

I’ll be observing the refs next season. Because they’ve been absolutely comical in making damn sure we weren’t pulling it off

If this carries on into next season there needs to be a pitch invasion because it’s becoming absolutely disgusting quite frankly

Enough is enough now efl you’ve made your ****ing point

For gods sake DCFC, can't you see we are discussing the meaning of accountants here?
Always someone has to be talking about trivial things.

"Wind your neck in" sonny, ramAnag doesn't understand something so we all have to subject ourselves to his protest.

Accountants rA? Well there are many different versions but essentially they understand the finer points of financial management ensuring that businesses act legally, and operate on a financially viable basis.

The job of the administrators is complex, they ahve to keep the club running, which they have done whilst negotiating with creditors, or at lest the preferred creditors to get them to accept a figure. Then they have to check each bid made to ensure the bidder has funds, is operating legally, etc. etc. Its highly specialised and with a football club even more so.

As for their costs well presumably more than one firm with the required expertise were asked for their quotes for the work before these lot were appointed. Ye sit seems a lot, but as GP has explained, in terms of the overall value of the transaction its really small beer and compared to say the cost of signing and paying one player its minimal.

If they secure a takeover and the club survives to play in League 1 with no further pts deduction then. I'd say it was also good value.
