Ridiculous, promotion or an unlucky loss in the final are the only things we should be content with, have we really sunk so far that a home defeat in the QF of the non league playoffs is deemed decent.
What's also laughable is weakly trying to claim that this message board isn't negative or thinking it actually reflects the wide fanbase. It's about as balanced as the old Underhill pitch. There is blinkered and then there is the fingers in your ears, eyes closed approach lol.

I don't think it's decent at all, I think it's disappointing. I predicted Top 7 at start of the season and throughout whilst others panicked and predicted mid table. That was the bare minimum in my eyes for this season and it was comfortably achieved regardless what people claim. It's the third season we've not really challenged for an automatic promotion spot at any time which is disappointing but The one thing it isn't is a disaster as some make out from their pit of despair as they call for a complete overhaul of the club.

Id have a read of our statement we released.

IB is being made out to be an idiot the standout part "Recruitment of players is ongoing and we will have news soon"

As I have said for a while the head coach doesnt have much of a say on players its a system in place at lots of clubs.

So the inevitable has happened and IB has gone. He is clearly a good young coach hence why he's attracted interest from a league one club. Although it's sobering how far we have fallen when a club the size of FGR have come in for our manager.

I thank IB for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future. From his point of view he's had two play-offs here and next season would effectively have been do or die. I'm sure if we were not near the top after ten games there would be unrest amongst the fan base. Likewise the expectation here is automatic promotion and he's obviously seen how hard it is to get out of this league. Especially this season with the big spenders Stockport and Wrexham.

Part of me is left wondering "what if" when it comes to the IB and Mo Ross partnership and whether we would have been better? It was the one liner in the interview about needing "animals" that Mo Ross saw something missing that a lot of us saw, and maybe he would have been able to have an influence and that could have took us over the line to promotion? We will obviously never know as he had to go.

It sounds from the statement by the club that the baby is not going to be thrown out with the bathwater and that we will be continuing to play football and retain an identity. What is does mean going forwards is that we will need be better at our game so that we can win away from home against the likes of Eastleigh, Aldershot, Weymouth on boggy grounds and in the midst of winter on a dark Tue night. That's where recruitment will be key and some of the challenges manager/head coach will need to resolve. I will also be hoping the new coach/manager will make us mentally tough and ruthless because we can have those qualities and still play football.

Get back in your box pal, the claim by someone earlier in the thread that Notts fans moan the most out of ANY football fans, not that on here it isn't negative. It's also positive as well, I think depends on the poster. Also who cares what you think, people can be positive or negative as they please.

Don't cherry pick what you think will win you the argument about this board as no one but you cares anyway. I said this messageboard is as negative as any others and to go have a look. I also didn't say it reflects the majority of the Notts fans as my family are season ticket holders, don't go on here and are usually more positive than the mood on here so what are you on about saying I said that. Get back in your box and don't pick my posts up, lie about what I said and then put lol like a 12 year old. It's you who has your hands over your eyes unless you can pick the part of my post that said I said this messageboard wasn't negative but you can't as I said it's as negative as any other. Jog on, you really are an insufferable prat aren't you. Have a good day.

And another thing I said a failed playoff campaign is the bare minimum we should expect then you say a top 7 finish is the bare minimum so you actually agree with me. We also agree it wasn't a decent season, you state it was disappointing. What the hell is your problem with what I posted, nothing as far as I can see so do one, I really think you're a jumped up little............. (insert a word of your choice here, I'd better not)

You should maybe read my post more than once before jumping in with two feet and getting it wrong.

I didn't say the earlier comment wasn't laughable. In fact my wording at the start of my post agreed with it "What's also laughable...". You see??? That's agreeing with the earlier comments.

More importantly you need to calm down a little and don't take everything to heart. It wasn't aimed solely at you I'd never do that just in case you threatened to break or snap anyone else's necks on here. Whoops.

Instead it was a general observation and comment rather aimed at yourself chap and you know who they are

Glad you recognise that NCM doesn't reflect the whole Notts fanbase, I strongly suspect quite a few don't. NCM like any other football message board is going to be more extreme, more critical than the overall fanbase. It's the personality type it attracts.

I also agreed that losing a home playoff tie isn't decent at all, and nor is a disaster. It's (very) disappointing.

So all in all putting you misreading or me unintentionally misleading you to one side we are in agreement on a lot of things.

Now take a few deep breaths and have a nice afternoon. It's lovely down where I am.

No soon as Ross left our results picked up.

He was clearly an idiot and you cant go round saying the sort of things he did to players & expect to get away with it.

Well I'm saddened for three reasons: I thought he was a very good player coach and a still-learning team coach with the right overall instincts (if that makes sense), and I thought he'd inch us towards automatic over the next two seasons; Doyle is going too; we don't get the kind of stability we all wanted to see.

It's the latter that is the biggest blow for me - I really thought he was in this for a decent project. Perhaps he realised a lot of the fan base simply don't have the patience for it.

I still think a fit Cameron all season and we'd be in the playoff finals.

What's boring is these incredibly naive simpletons who actually believe that we have the biggest moaners of any club!

    Laughable.
