Then a bombshell drops Laptop drops his transfer request in and his agent goes public. Lets then assume a Scotch Prem club maybe one of the Edinburgh teams comes in with an offer to take Freddie Laptop on loan Warne moves quickly with TS blessing to set up a deal to bring in one of the EFL's top scorers for a substantial fee and a 3 year contract confident in the knowledge that one of his highest earners is off the books and the interest in the striker project drops.
Laptop does not want to go to Scotland and the only other interest is from 2 promotion rivals, so no deal there. Warne worried that Laptop will lose interest still wants to push on with the striker deal he has set up, TS will not relax the purse strings but Warne wants another striker one who can make an immediate impact not a project. Work the rest out.

I suspect I am not far off the mark. Be interesting to see if the striker deal goes through now, ironically a Scots club is now chasing the same guy

To cut a long story short Ladapo being sold would make funds available for Stockton. Didn't happen so Kelly was next choice. So wouldn't say Warney didnt want or sign him just he wasn't his 1st choice.

Kelly rate. Washington like signing. Greaves liked look of. Forwards with one or two additions depending on Smith staying looking good for next season.

Greaves scored 1 goal in 19 games for a sixth, SIXTH tier team last season. In what world could anyone genuinely think he is ready to step up to the second tier? How can you possibly think that? How?

Not wanting a reply or anything, just had to get it off my chest. Sometimes the mind boggles. I pray to not hear some magic eye tripe.

You can't believe that, you can't.

You've got to start somewhere! Must have something or he'd have gone way of Gratton.

Gru, it's time to go and have a lie down in a darkened room mate.

Right friendly in which Gratton & Greaves played some part of start of last season. I said after that game Gratton didn't rate, he's gone. Greaves looked to me he's got something to work with. Up to him to prove that.

I’m going to stick me neck on the block about Conor Washington, never do this about new signings but I think this lad is a good fit and as previously in his career has a goal in him. Decent signing on a free.

Yes agree, he is, but without Smith there appears to be no height up front and no real " ball holding" skills

True, we could do with someone like Vinnie Jones in that respect.
