Been a poor day so far. The conditions and pitch are not 260/3.

    307-3 off 72 overs.

We've not bowled particularly well and the Aussies look like they have us in their pocket!

Still a poor poor day. Conditions don’t get much better than that for our bowlers. 3 of which all bowl 80mph. It’s embarrassing for Broad and Robinson when Anderson is quicker.
The balance of the side is all wrong. We simply can’t play all of Broad/Anderson/Robinson. 2 out of 3 max. Then Stokes… he wouldn’t get in just as a batter. His bowling was pedestrian today. If he’s injured, go get fit. Don’t keep players from playing because they haven’t bowled for a month. Especially when Stokes himself hasn’t bowled and is injured. He’s had a knee issue since last summer so why not go get an op and be fit for the Ashes?
I’m just flabbergasted at the selection policy.

Well, I'm no expert - to put it mildly - but it seems odd to me that we have an attack consisting of:
    zero * fulltime spinner
zero * scare them shtless fast
five * medium pacers (Stokes, Broad, Tongue, Robinson, Anderson).

When the Aussies bowl I reckon we will see the benefit of their extra pace - and spin (Lyon).

I see Glenn Mcgrath predicted 5-0 again. I don't think he will be far off the mark after that. Extremely poor considering the conditions.

Tongue is as quick as any of the Oz bowlers. Mark Wood is sat in the stands. England are somewhat unfortunate that Olly Stone and Jofra Archer are injured as both are quick.
The Oz attack, particularly this test has lots of options.
    Hazelwood is very accurate
    Cummins is quick
Cameron their all rounder is tall and quick
    Starc is left arm
Gary is a solid off spinner.
That said, the County game breeds the 80mph bowlers with most games played during April, May and September.
