North Isla St back to how it was. Why did it have to be so difficult? Idiots.
Great result. Common sense prevails.
One thing that puzzled me since TTT brought this up was no mention of the lower part of Hindmarsh avenue in this, especially with its obvious central location to both grounds, thankfully now included in this wobble of the head. Was sure that area was in regular use until a couple of years ago and glad to see it mentioned in the update.
I've never know Hindmarsh Avenue to be used for blue badge parking but it could have been before I started using these facilities.
Like I said, idiots.
Another prime example of councils not having a clue/giving a f*ck...... There's a big stretch of grassland from Monifieth Balmossie to almost the Glass Pavilion on the Ferry Esplanade. It's been used for as long as I've been alive, and probably decades before that, by folk walking their dogs whilst folk out for a casual walk use the footpath alongside. A large greenspace area for dogs to run about and play freely. Low and behold, it's all now been fenced off and is being turned into a f*cking Wildflower Meadow. I mean, wtaf goes through these people's heads. We've now been left with an 8ft footpath along that whole stretch to accommodate everyone. Mind boggling.
When you come into Dundee along Riverside these days it's just an absolute mess. Welcome to Dundee. 🤔
You would not believe how long it has taken them to implement this and still feck it up!
I do not wish to sound like im defending the council, and im surprised they allowed something that discriminated against a protected group, but when things like this are brought into being by a committee, everyone involved like the Police are all looking to not take on blame if things take a wrong turn. Because the council brought all pertinent elements of this together and published it, doesnt mean everyone else involved should get off apparently scot free!
For my part, all i wanted was to come home on match day and not be subjected to a fine just because the cones are out from 8 in the morning! I regularly start work before the cones were set so my reg on occasion wasnt collected, then for evening KO, to come home 6 hours before the match and be fined i thought was ludicrous, especially one Scotland U21 game that only the GF Lower was open! Well they exceeded that with other parts in implementing the scheme!
On your thread drift, we used the path you mention as our part of our Covid rebirth, but as we go elsewhere more often now, i dont know what its like now. I do though know that meh backies in the summer used to be bouncing in the good weather, but as DCC, and more specifically Parks Department, have now created more wildflower areas, its rarely cut. However, they actually do think that us minions are zipped up he back, and do not realise the real reason for this is to make cut backs!
Much the same mate. The whole area has remained uncut since covid. Walkers have managed to create their own natural pathways through the jungle but that now won't be possible. Like you say, it has f*ck all to do with making the area more wildlife friendly and everything to do with cost cutting.

Yeah, it certainly seems that way. And have you seen state of Caird and Camperdown Parks these days? Total disgrace. ☹️
