The big issue now is how we respond to this disappointing result next week. I would anticipate that Bryson is out as well as Cochrane suspended but we now have players to step in assuming that Lyon is fit but I would hope for a bigger more attacking front lineup.

I agree, now is the time to sort it out on the pitch. The Bryden lad up front looks promising. Unfortunately Brydon's hamstring is a recurring problem.

I'm very disappointed in Cochrane's response to the red card. He reminded me of a petulant child who refuses to accept that he was wrong. It was as clear as day that it was a very poor tackle, and I'd advise the club not to appeal Cochrane's petulance, - or he might get a 3 match ban for his reaction, which clearly influenced the backroom staff. If you remember, Cochrane walked straight off the pitch and didn't speak to anyone, so he and he alone is to blame.

Overall on Saturday, Queens played with more effort than last season, but they failed to deal with the wind, while Montrose mastered it. Their goal was incredible, and Bryden was extremely unlucky when their goalkeeper pulled off an excellent save, but for me, Montrose deserved all 3 points.

The link with Middlesbrough has paid off yet again with the season long loan signing of Pharrell Willis who appears to be another talented prospect added to the squad.

Good opportunity today to try out the new signings especially as we do not want players who are struggling with knocks taking part in the game against Airdrie.

Tame, tepid or impotent but we do not create enough chances for all the forward play we had today and were truly stuffed on the break by a competent Championship side. This needs to be addressed by a change of playing style by getting the ball forward quicker and the midfield supporting the forwards quicker. Over reliance on the long throw again which can be a weapon but should only be a part of the attacking plan.
Willis was decent on his debut but is raw and will improve. Hannah had a dodgy start but afterwards was more solid in his role.
The management team now need to earn their wages by getting the team to create genuine scoring threats.
