No doubt as has been stated his contract offer expired at the end of June then the saga over will he/won't he is probably over. However I'm not aware the club have not put out a statement, except to sign another forward which probably speaks for itself.

It does, but as you say no statement and he's still listed everywhere (including his own Twitter) as a Crewe player.

Birmingham World virtually confirms that Marschall is to sign on loan. A 21 year old who started last season at Gateshead and finished at MKD, only managed single figure appearances for the Dons in the 2nd half of last season. So he's a year older than Tom but less experienced. However, his club will be looking for him to up his appearances (possibly one of the reasons he's been loaned out to a team in the same division) so How's that going to go? Is Tom fully recovered from his hamstring? If so, this is his 3rd season so he'll probably be thinking he should be establishing himself by now. However, 20/21 is still young for a goalkeeper but the same goes for the loanee. Is this an area where tension may begin to materialise?

CBR to Newport. Hardly a surprise and not a big disappointment. His time has gone, I think, particularly with his gym bunny developments making his body shape less suitable for a mobile centre forward.

So a straight swap between the Alex and Newport, striker for striker. Who'll win that one do you think?

We had 3 players out of contract who were offered new contracts and we they have now all left, we also lost Rio but at least we received a fee for him. Nevitt and Offord went to teams who will be hoping for the play offs , CBR has gone to a team hoping to avoid relegation, I would have thought that Crewe was a better option. Was he hoping for a better offer from a bigger team, was that what he had in mind.

Possibly Newport offered him a longer contract. He was also quite appreciated there in a way he probably felt he wasn't at the Alex last season.
I definitely believe we've got the better deal. As for Hemmings + Bogle vs Nevitt + CBR, what's the balance of talent there do you think?

I get CBR had his detractors, he was definitely overshadowed by Nevitt, don't get me wrong I think Bogle and Hemmings could be a good forward partnership and am hopeful that a play off place is still possible despite losing Nevitt, Offord and Rio. I am hoping that the left back spot gets resolved despite LB saying its not a priority.
