This tournament just keeps on giving to England.
Slovakia are no mugs but to now be playing them rather than Netherlands in the last 16 is a huge gift.
We should go deep into this tournament but whoever emerges in the final out of the other half of the draw will win it in my opinion.

In around 4 hours time we will see if the real England are going to announce themselves to the tournament.
Im not convinced they will but still predict a tight, slow, cumbersome and mind numbingly boring 1-0 win.
That though will be as far as we go as the Swiss will do us in the quarters.

England supposed to have the easier path to the final. Not sure about that if they get past Switzerland then Holland they deserve to get to the final. The latter how many chances did they have yesterday against Romania? & they get forward unlike our across field passing game.

A few news outlets have reported that Ed Sheeran has been serenading them at the team hotel.

James Blunt has seen it and responded that he has been booked in case they lose to Switzerland

Everyone to their own choice but I still think England are capable of beating Switzerland.

This will be the game when Southgate knows he's got to change it up several gears and that will happen. The only thing I still don't like, and they are both great players, and that is Bellingham and Foden playing behind Kane as they cross over each others patch. Something's got to change there. Personally, I'd drop Foden for Toney/Watkins.

It's all been very quiet on the Luke Shaw left back position. I feel we may well see him start or at least get a decent run in the game, otherwise why take a crocked player to any competition? The likes of Gordon, Palmer, Watkins and even Toney, should all get a run and the likes of Kane and anyone else should be replaced if they are not delivering and Southgate shouldn't leave it until the last 10 minutes if he's chasing the game.

We, have been given the easiest run to a final and now it's time to throw the kitchen sink at the Swiss and deliver with no extra time involved.
The freshness of the squad is crucial if we are to progress.

If Southgate plays Shaw who hasn’t played since the middle of Feb against the pace of the Swiss wingers he’s asking for trouble.

Sky are reporting that England might be going to a back 3 with Stones, Walker and Konsa as the CBs.

If I had to name a player who's not done enough at the Euros, who affects progress by passing sideways or backwards, then it would have to be Stones, he's been awful and, that's a major worry if he's using him just in a back three.

    That makes me think 3-4-2-1

More like a 3-4-3, I can see that happening if he's running a 3 from the back.
