It's a good job Falkirk weren't in the championship last season or we would have been screwed. Very early days but this result has left me deflated already. They say winning generates confidence - here's hoping we find out whether this is true soon.

I don't agree with him that we should be treating this competition as our pre-season, it's too important for that. Him making the excuse of only having the team in training for four weeks is poor. Who's decision was that? Any more dropped points now and it's curtains, in fact it could be already.
yep lots of teams go out on 9pts, also i personally think Ayr have a better team than Falkirk with who they have brought in.

we need to win all 3 games and by a few goals, not going to happen with that buffoon in charge

Never saw the game but we can't be going into the season with Middleton, Watt or Moult in our first 11. Maybe Watt. We need more pace up the top end of the pitch and we need some central midfielders. Docherty should be counted as a nice to have when he is actually available, not as a number in of the squad.

Had my concerns over this new centre half. Would rather have just seen Mugabe come in.

Goodwin keeps talking about how well we've trained. I'm sorry but that means **** all. Every single professional team trains well ffs.

Jim got the job because we were a basket case of a club looking for yet another manager. We saw a Premier league experienced manager (who had just been sacked because of shocking performances) and grabbed him.

He could not motivate the team to win any games after the split even though technically we could have still stayed up.

He was rewarded with a contract!

We won the league last season playing eye bleeding football and got lucky it was the weakest league for years.

He has earned his chance at at a shot at this league but to say he is already on dodgy ground (with some fans at least) is an understatement.

He will have to show a side mixed with skill, tactics, mental strength and luck to stay in this league, where we will be measured in direct comparison with out neighbours.

Can he show that? Only time will tell, but even after one game the clock is already ticking.

All this about the league Cup not being important is hogwash. Yes the league is the priority but it is one of two trophies we could possibly win and if you do well in that it can kick-start you to greater things.

Try telling the late wee Jim that certain game at Dens in 1979 was not important...we all know what happened from then.
