I would have kept Powell out wide and left Bramall on the bench, put Mcwilliams into the midfield and used Tiehi as our central midfield link until Kelly is ready to start again. Why we kept lumping the ball up to Nombe and Wilkes looking for flick ons is another mystery, surely against their bigger defenders we should have been playing the ball into the channels for them to use their pace and turn defenders, and knowing JCH wouldn't be playing this should have been worked on in training. In a close game like this was, it just needs one moment of quality to win it, and for me it came in 17 seconds with the cross that Mullin put away, but they defended really well and whilst they aren't brilliant, they are very well drilled and will probably wonder how they didn't catch us on the break in the last 15 mins when we had to commit men forward. On my way to the ground I bumped into jocksgloves and we both said that we know we are going to concede a goal, but I'm pretty sure neither of us was expecting it to be after 17 seconds, all in all a really frustrating day for us but we move on. Keep it simple if available have wider players playing on their natural side. I thought Bramall moved in front of James for starting. Powell on left side of midfield with Hungbo wide of him. Mcwilliams right side Holmes same of him. Midfield might be better playing Odoffin central then he can up to give us some height up front with Nombe.

Thats how we play away from home in the main. It works. Only Birmingham really tore us open. Stevenage away we were just off it on the day and were poor.
Other games we've let the home team have the ball and we're just well organised. No doubt we'll come unstuck again away from home but more often than not it gets results.

The criticism of style of play is unfounded as its brought us huge success so far. When were on the way to getting out of the National League many other fans told us that the way we play won't work in League 2. Then last season we were told it wouldn't work in League 1.

There's an obsession with Pep G style of football and if you dare to win games any other way its somehow anti-football. Which is such a load of crap. A lot of other fans laud the way their teams play football being superior to ours whilst being permanently below us in the league.

My thoughts on you for what its worth is that you lacked firepower and a bit of brute force & **** housery up front (solved by Clarke-Harris i'd guess) and the final ball was generally off.
Thanks for that, glad you enjoyed your visit and good luck for the rest of the season, other than when you play us again obviously. UTM

Thanks Mr Gloves. Glad you had a good day.

I listened with interest to Mick the Miller's comments on the game on the NYT podcast and it appears that he upset a lot of your fans by suggesting Wrexham were awful, worse than most teams we're played. I agree with you, the way you play is not pretty but very hard to play against and, if playing with effective strikers or attacking midfielders who will take the odd chances that will come your way, then you will get plenty of low scoring wins. We've had managers do that in my watching lifetime, and as with all fans, we will love it when it is successful. Hopefully our own current manager will be more successful with his similar system in the near future. I only think the amount of % possession we had was really due to the fact that you let us have it as part of your game plan, not that we took it.

For the first time in ages(Maybe a couple of years),we out-played a team, and a team who were 2nd in the table(Not sure how).
We have certainly improved in the last 3 weeks, still not promotion material, but with a bit more improvement, mainly finishing the chances we are creating, then I could see us in the top 10,pushing for the play-offs.
On Wrexham....watched the TV series, which I have enjoyed, but apart from the winger (Bennett ??),they are just a strong, organised team with a bloke who can finish the chances given to him,he didn`t half to whinge a lot, always trying to manage the ref,so now I`ve seen them play a full game, gone off him a bit.
If they did go up,which is possible, the Yanks will need deep pockets to stop an immediate return to league 1,think we know how that feels.

They are second in the table because they have won 7 out of their 11 games,GD +11,we have won 3 out of 12 & GD -3.Some of our fans say Wrexham are crap if that’s so what looking at those stats does it make us.

I think you're all being a little unfair on Wrexham. They pressed, got the ***** goal, and sat back to hit us on the break. That's why we had all that possession.
There were plenty of crosses into the box, but can't remember us winning a header. We never looked like scoring all afternoon. I'll dare suggest to Ronners, I could have played in goal for the Welshmen, except the great goalkicks.
Actually, on that. My son remarked that there didn't seem many Welsh Dragon flags. Is it more a South Wales thing?

Some of us like to fact check. I'd look more closely at your PL score for last Saturday for example?
