I'd rather keep him if he wanted to stay, but if he doesn't then I'll wish him well - except if he lines up against us.
This post almost perfectly sums it up - he was playing against Salford 😂 But as quite often against the top teams was largely anonymous- and him dropping deep when not needed gofted Salford their first goal.

Shame to see him go, and I've enjoyed watching him play

But this is the 'pain' we feel from the model in place to help us grow as a club, and the club again have been very proactive in lining up potential replacements.

Selling to a rival obviously has its drawbacks, but if the money is good, and he wants to jump ship, then what can we do? Maybe Ruben & Woots were completely committed to the club for the remainder of their contracts, and that made it easier for the club to make the decision to keep them??
I?ll take a guess and say it?s nothing to do with the model. I?m pretty sure we?ve put in a contract offer but I imagine their offering around 5k plus a week and I?d hazard a guess we won?t go much over 3k.
So if they?re the only ones willing to do that what can we do? IF and a big IF he stunk the place out if we didn?t let let him go it?s no good for the club or the team as much as it absolutely grates me to sell to a rival.

Our results were poor to say the least when he was out injured in October and November and yes I know so were others at this same time.
We dont have a player that offers what Crowley does if SM plays him in the correct position in terms of goals and assists. The two new lads have very little experience to tell what they can offer, Edwards is 31 and had never played EFL before this season and the jury must be out still on what he can offer after a lengthy injury hampering his season, Grant to me is a poor player, a Kairo Mitchell type signing.
We would have to pay decent money to replace Crowley and hope whoever it is can hit the ground running.
    Totally agree

Ruben and Wootton gave there all to the last kick for the club. No one could doubt them. The fact Crowley went missing for large swathes of games makes me not want to compare those two with Crowley

Haha. Yes, he was, but he was just back from injury and well off the pace (even in the context of a terrible team performance), I thought. Was amazed he was on the pitch for 70 minutes. Do we have to call Salford a "top team" now they're in 3rd?

    This, this, this!

Has he played well and created some great goals and chances? Totally.
Has he looked like he can?t be arsed, ball greedy and more bothered about him having the ball rather than the easy pass? Yes.
His head has been out the door for a good few months now and was never going to commit to us past this season. He?s looked disinterested for lots of games now overall.
    Take the money and run.
It?ll probably bite us in the arse, selling to a rival for promotion, but that doesn?t change the simple fact that he looks like he doesn?t want to be here and we?ve had a cash offer for him.
    Got to take it imo.

There's a reason he got released by Arsenal & never played higher than L1 with a struggling club then given a free transfer by them & now plying his trade in L2 & possibly in the future

Good to get some cash for someone that clearly doesn't want to be at Notts anymore. However it shows very little ambition on his part to go to MK which is purely for the ???? pay rise.

Great on his day but also poor when not. His ball greediness of late has annoyed the hell out of me when there's been a pass on.
