    Your way off with this.

Tops and balls free? No they were paid for by the recipients through their gold membership fee. They were an entitlement not a gift.

As regards a committee member going on all expenses paid jaunts down south. This is something I never agreed with by the way, completely unnecessary as far as I was concerned, but come on now was he supposed to pay for it all himself? They were affiliated to a national organisation who had meetings that someone attended. Would you go on a course or job with your work or as part of any organisation and pay all the costs yourself? Unnecessary cost maybe but a very valid expense for the society to pay.

The largest amounts of cash I ever saw going out of DFCSS all went direct to Dundee FC, including at one point a fairly large payment to help cover player wages and yes, that's since your messiah and DSA dictator John Nelms was on board, and at another point a fairly large payment to cover pitch maintenance.

You might have been a DFCSS Director when John Nelms sent a bill to the DFCSS board of directors for ?38,000 which included charging them for meals which were never taken by Platinum members are part of their package and the cost of a free match programme for every home game for every Gold member which was part of their package.
Only two or three members had taken up this offer but Nelms decided that he would fleece DFCSS by charging for the cost of every Gold member receiving a free match programme for every home game irrespective of whether they received a free match programme or not because he hates DFCSS. In my opinion Nelms wanted all DFCSS?s money which would put them out of business.
It is more than a passing coincidence that within two months of Bill Colvin resigning as Chairman of Dundee Football Club and a partner of FPS that the management of Dundee Football Club had seized the televising of Dundee FC home games live on DEETV and the various DFCSS packages for supporters for Dundee Football Club.
The various packages and DEETV were a joint venture between DFCSS and Dundee Football Club.
Interestingly the management of Dundee Football Club dispensed with various fundraising packages as that would have involved in the management of Dundee Football Club carrying out extra work and I have heard DFC supporters complaining that the management of DFC have not spent money upgrading the equipment for televising Dundee FC homes games live on DEETV.
If correct then it fits with Nelms?s penny pinching tactics of trying to get as much money out of Dundee supporters at the lowest possible expense.

1 Why would DFCSS pay for something that they hadn’t received? If they have it’s gross mismanagement.
2 DFC should definitely be running DEETV.
3 What were the various packages? And you hear a lot of things, and give your opinion on a lot of things, most of them a lot of ****.
4 Spoke to a member of Downfield yesterday, who told me that you were a moaning chunt when you were a member there, and you were close to being kicked out.

I remember the programme thing. He actually wanted the full cost of a hard copy, glossy programme from every DFCSS member for every game because a PDF was being uploaded to the website and available for viewing by every member. Reality was that very, very few people were accessing it and they (Nelms and Crighton) were told to beat it.

The Platinum meals thing is ringing a bell but I wasn't really involved in those discussions.

The removal of streaming rights was an absolute disgrace and he even refused to return the equipment needed for it which was the property of DFCSS. The standard of coverage fell off a cliff when the club first took it on but thankfully it's better now.

These things were done to try to get all the DFCSS funds which Nelms was adamant belonged to the club because the money came from Dundee FC supporters. His belief was, and probably still is, that any spare cash that any Dundee fan has and intends spending on football should be the club's either by the purchase of something or ideally by donation.

The John Nelms business model is essentially get as much money out of DFC fans as possible, at the lowest possible expense to him and spend the least amount to thank those same fans for their loyalty.

Why did DFCSS not demand the return of their property? If Nelms or DFC stole the equipment surely that was a police matter?

It was asked for but never returned, and what would they do with it?

It's never been the policy of DFCSS / Dee4Life to cause friction with the club and so they've pretty much always just accepted that sort of thing. The membership wouldn't be too happy if the society took the club through the courts and it would just cost both parties money. The only friction between the two has been caused by Nelms.

No one is talking about individual tops/balls that folk got with gold membership, I?m talking about the groups that were paraded on Dens each Saturday that were given the gifts,
I?m no fan of Nelms but you can?t come up with an alternative, remember he?s Keyes man and without Keyes where would we be, I do admire that he took action to save the staff at Gardyne ever having to put up with the clown, no one should have to put up with him during their day of work, and he?s told his story about Gardyne that much he believes it 100%, just a pity for him no one else believes it
