Rob Edwards left Luton Town by mutual consent, he knew that the club could not hold onto a
premiership place, with relegation to the championship, he knew he had taken Luton Town as
    far as he could.
Could he be looking for a new challenge.

I would say that wage bill was a low budget in the championship, & then into the premiership a higher wage bill, but this amount would be chicken feed to a lot of clubs in the championship.

Ex-player Tom Eaves & ex-loanee player Sam Hoskins could both be playing against us on Tuesday.

    Duff for me.

I wanted to nick Clough from Mansfield before we got Evans in but that's even less likely now.

We were relegated. Are you suggesting hamshaw will get us relegated to league 2? 😜

Not an 'established' manager. Absolutely not a 50+/60+ career manager who's been around the block because he'll have no interest in the long term plan we clearly need. Not a mid-40s type who's had mixed fortunes, because they'll be off at the first sign of a job offer with a team who have a less autocratic, boys club vibe, the first time they have a winning streak and get some attention.

Not an up-and-coming Damien Duff type who's had success in a lesser league/division. They will either struggle with our structure and leave, or somehow navigate our weird structure, have some success, then leave for a bigger club on the back of their success.

Not a returning player/coach/manager. Warne was something of a fluke. Evans was terrible - embarrassing even. Ronnie's second stint wasn't great and got pretty weird by the end. Aside from Woody (who apparently wants to keep playing) there's no obvious candidate for me (the talk of Morrison is laughable - not one of ours, wasn't a leader, absolute plodder).

First timer. Ex-pro. Stayed in football. Small town background. 3-digit IQ. It's the only way we get a man who gets us, wants to think beyond next season, gets the respect of players we want around the place, isn't primed to walk out at a moment's notice. Hamshaw fits the bill, and so will many others. If Hamshaw isn't right, they need to have a shortlist drawn up pretty f***ing quickly.

    An interesting read Ulley.
I think if we had an ambitious owner with a progressive, forward thinking board of directors, some of the categories you have ruled out would actually fit the bill long term.
Unfortunately we have a leader who has lost interest but remains surrounded by a bunch of yes men who are snuggled into their comfort zones so, yes, the options are indeed limited.
We can only hope Hamshaw is another "happy accident" appointment.
