The Scotland game is ten days away. Clarke spoke to Mellon and Mellon confirmed he hopes to give Shankland game time this weekend. If so, he's fit and eligible to be called up for the National team. Whether he plays is another matter altogether. If he doesn't make this weekend, and isn't deemed fit to play, he won't play. End of.

How on earth is it a can of worms? If he's unfit, they call someone else up. That's the way it's worked forever.
He's not the first, and wont be the last player to be called up while not currently fit enough to play for his club team. Some may see it as an unnecessary risk. Others will see it as more minutes under his belt towards full fitness.

They are still lumbered with Morelos and have spent millions on another two strikers so its highly unlikely that LOA will be signing for them.If they wanted him it would have been done ages ago.

Shanks back at training today according to his instagram! In the Scotland squad after MM indicated that he is in the plans for Saturday against Killie (possibly on the bench) so I wouldn't read too much into him being selected and not playing!
At the end of the day, if an offer comes in and he wants to go...then he'll be off and we will deal with it. but there is no point worrying about it!

Would be a shame though to lose him after only nearly a season in the (ahem....) Diddy league.
