Pleased to hear, especially about the seniors who too often in big clubs/organisations just delegate goodwill. Chapeau PW and RB et alBackground - a 2 year old Rams fan had a stroke a few months back. Go fund me type page has got a lot in to help the lad out. He, his parents and sister were recently invited for a day at Moor Farm. Here's Dad's account of the day...
Reuben was lucky enough to be invited to Moor Farm today to watch training and meet the players and staff. They were all incredible with Reuben and Ivy making them feel included and interacting with them. I know Warne emphasises the importance of a good group and every one of them today were great with us as a family. They are all a credit to our great club Derby County and I am honoured to be a supporter of it.
Reuben’s favourite player is Cashin and he went the extra mile to make sure Reuben had a good experience. My wife is now a huge fan of Curtis Nelson as he came across as a really humble, genuine professional who you would follow through thick and thin. Josh Vickers heard Ivy wants to be a goalkeeper and was really good with her as she has had a tough time too.
Owen Bradley the Rams TV presenter has been really good with us as a family and supported us over the past few weeks. The staff at Derby; Megan and Sophie have also been great supporting Reuben and us through this difficult time.
Finally, Warne and Richie Barker were really impressive today and are genuinely great human beings. They gave us the one thing you can’t put a price on…. Their time. Derby County is in great hands in my opinion and I will be an avid supporter of this management team this season.
We will be at Shrewsbury tomorrow so please say Hello to Reuben and Ivy if you see us as we see Derby County as part of our wider family now and we are all on the Road to Recovery together.
... as I said, what a great club!
