[QUOTE=Whitfieldarab;39871465]To those who say aye there you go, I would say Harkes has stepped it up. Big time. Not just because he scored yesterday, his overall play is much better. He's using the ball better, being more assertive, all round big improvement. To say this is the same player would be incorrect because it's not. As I said previously either Ian had a word with himself when dropped or TC had a word, either way I'm delighted. I may criticise a player but I'll be the first to congratulate him if he turns it round so well done Ian Harkes 🧡
Keep it up son.
His brilliant flick to get a shot in end of 1st half and goal aside, I actually thought he struggled a bit, poor first touch led to us losing possession a few times. Credit to him for the goal though, keeper should have saved, but he hit the target and asked the question, if don’t buy a ticket to the lottery and all that.
Why have they not announced the attendance yet?
Scroll down for that photo of Freeman and the Shyte Jimmy Saville, truly magnificent.

That laddie is gonna be some player BTW,well he already is to be fair. The big question is why did the coaching staff think that a 16 year old centre half should play in his position from the start?.
No being negative i think its a fair question to ask but i know i will not get an official answer to it,
He certainly looked capable, and most importantly, was a right back playing right back. Kerr Smith clearly isn't able to play that role given he gassed out after 65 mins so it was a strange decision indeed. Hopefully Freeman gets a bit more game time to show what he can do. Easy to look good for the last half an hour against a mediocre team like the Fun. 😉
Funster FC have scored a few goals latterly from set pieces with the big haddie Ashcroft. My thoughts were that Kerr Smith played to add a bit of height to counteract this. Maybe not, but was the only reason I could think of for him starting over Freeman.
This is what I also thought and it makes perfect sense to be fair. SJS header aside (in the first half) I can't remember any danger coming via this route. Took a while for Smith to get a hold of Marshall (who had a couple of very decent crosses early on) but I thought after that he was solid enough. Gives you nothing going forward though...
