Very disappointing, but we competed 2nd half. They were better defensively and, Grady apart, did not look like breaking them down.
Not sure that to lay the blame on Bruce is fair. Our players were not good enough.
    What’s happened to Swift?
Early goal conceded (could have been 2) and again a poor 1st 45mins. 2nd half we played better, but PNE shut up shop.

It's the same pattern week in, week out. We concede an early goal through poor defending, giving us a mountain to climb, and when sides defend as well as Preston did we don't look like scoring. When fans were saying that we would be fighting relegation I took it with 'a pinch of salt.' However, it looks like a real possibility now. Bruce just has to go as there is no way that he can justify keeping his job. It's no good saying that we're playing well but not getting the rewards. Whether a change of management will turn things around is another matter.

There is a cancer in our team which is spreading to most players. We desperately need some injection of positivity before we slip into the lower league.

    Brucey speaks

He said: “I didn’t think we deserved the defeat.

“Again, the talking point will be the fact we’ve conceded very, very early and given ourselves a mountain to climb.

“It’s all we’ve spoken about for the last week, not conceding early goals. We have to be able to give ourselves a chance.

“There seemed a nervousness to us, even though I swapped half of the team. Unfortunately we’ve made the same mistakes as we seem to have done plenty of times this season.

“After that, I thought we were camped in their half and we had a couple of big chances which we failed to take.

“We had enough to get something from the game, but unfortunately we didn’t and it’s so disappointing.

“The frustration is there for everybody. I can understand how people feel. We’ve not got the results we’ve needed, but I still think we’re on the right course.

“I still think we can make a challenge of trying to get up to where we want to be, which is of course around the play-off places. I’m determined to see it through,

    PLAY OFF PLACES LOL

Due to various issues I forgot we were even playing last night, it wasn't until I logged on to here that I realised we'd played and lost and that I'd missed out on predicting.

I can barely believe it myself that an Albion match has passed me by without registering.

I doubt that you have missed out, Mick, as you would probably have predicted that the mighty Baggies would beat Preston!

    Like I did!

Yes, I know, I had intended to go for a 2-1 Preston win, then saw that the team featured a number of changes and I mistakenly thought that they’d put in a performance and get a win. So, if I predict a home defeat on Saturday, we will be assured of a win; won’t we?

I was at the match Prando. Did we compete as there was no cutting edge and in the Preston supporters words ‘ you must be absolutely
s hite to lose against us ‘. We could have played all night and not scored so same PROBLEM week in week out!

Of course it’s Bruce’s fault - we were shocking last season under him and now 1 win in 12 and in the relegation zone. Bruce needs to be sacked immediately and that was the view of the travelling support last night who like me paid a fortune.

Anyone who says Bruce shouldn’t be sacked quite frankly is deluded!

Feel so strong about the decline under Bruce. Even Okay has gone backwards. Grant is like s complete fairy!!
