    Thankfully E.S. did not make ground on us.To-night would be about getting to know the players capabilities,nevertheless it is an embarrassment 5 games without a goal.
    With 2 goals having been scored by Berwicks no 2, I somehow think that a different player will be at right back for us on Saturday.

    What do you mean by the second bit? Wilson at fault?

    And couldn't have had a worse time to go down to England on a Tuesday night. Bad result.

    It was to be hoped that DC in charge would have sparked something tonight but he will be under no illusions about the job in hand now. Hopefully he will have learned where the faults are in our side and will have a plan to conjure a win on Saturday. Terrible result to start the new era, but the only way is up from here. Hopefully a big turnout of lichties this weekend and 100% backing.

    I see I made a mistake I meant Berwick's no;11, whose direct opponent is our no; 2.

    P.S.Having now seen the highlights on P.&B. probably opened my mouth too soon.Fleming had some good saves as did their keeper.

    Wasn't there but, having seen the highlights what strikes me is how we desperately need a bit of luck as much a anything. I notice the match stats suggested a fairly even game. A couple of their goals seemed fortunate at the least whereas 1-2 of our efforts did not get the break of the ball.

    We really are suffering from the lack of a natural finisher, who can often make their own luck but we could also do with a break

    As in recent games, it looks like we are a bit lacking in confidence but would also benefit from a a few more players getting more vocal and geeing up the others

    A few observations;

    Williams should be playing every game, whether it's centre-back or right-wing. He's not going to skin a full-back and hit the bye-line but he has a bit of composure and always look to get the ball under control and get his head up. I think he would work as a holding midfielder.

    Bobby is trying to do everything himself. There was a run where he went past a few players but kept going until he gave the ball away. Whether that is because he doesn't have options or he doesn't trust the options, I don't know.

    Skelly isn't ready for competitive football - he was absolutely bullied out of that game and I was surprised that Rutherford made way for Hester instead, even though he wasn't that much more imposing.

    I'm not sure our team is particularly poor technically but at the moment we're getting outfought so badly that we simply can't get a foothold in the game to display any technique. This isn't the first time I've said this but (and I don't know where I got the

    Are you sure LL that you got that right about games and goals. Maybe I'm wrong but I thought the point of the game was to score goals and to score more goals than the other team to win the game.

    I guess after last night's game (where the other team scored more goals than us and won the game) **** Campbell will have an idea of the problem surrounding the team and what he can do to improve things. I don't expect miracles but as long as he can keep us above the bottom spot for the rest of the season he will have done a good job. But what a sad state of affairs when that would be seen as a success. The board waited far too long before getting shot of Lumsden and Hislop when it was clear to the supporters far earlier that a change was needed. Sometimes finance shouldn't be the overriding factor in making decisions.

    Yes, I've got that right and if you can't see the point I'm making especially after the last 18 months, I'm amazed.
