    Rooney Falls On His Sword

...for two games at least. Withdrawn himself from selection for the next two games. So, who had a quiet word? Himself? Rosenior? Schteeve? And God forbid we win the next two and he claims it’s his team management that made the difference....

Worrying that the journo describes it as Rooney "positioning himself as Lead Coach"? Do us a favour Wayne, take Colleen away to Dubai for a fortnight help take her mind off Vardygate!

Talksport reported on lunchtime sports news that Rooney is now the sole interim manager.
Do we know the source or is it just based on the info in this thread?

Just read Nicko's Derbyshire Live summary of Roo's press conference this afternoon. Mclaren was involved in the conversations that led to Roo getting the interim job. It has been done to "avoid confusion". If it leads to a positive performance and ditto result we can't complain.

Ive heard he/Rooney tried to fall on his own sword, but he missed by a few yards and ended up trying to claim a penalty instead.

I was just going to pose the same question, I mean there are 3 qualified experienced coaches there, what makes Rooney the guy to be overall lead coach?
