So when teams play on telly they abbreviate the countries name: England = ENG, France = FRA etc

Well I've learned something there thanks Yorkshire, However it is English TV so based on your reply why is England V Germany - ENG V GER and not - ENG V DEU they do abrieviate Holland to NET though?
