Leaflet through the door last week from Stephen Kerr asking for voters to lend them their vote.
There was a phone number and e mail address asking voters to contact him with any concerns or issues.
Thought I'd give him a chance.
E mailed him saying the lending of my vote depended on the answer to a few things but these 3 questions were the most important to me.
1. Define a woman
2. What is your position on assisted dying.
3. Do you think illegals should be detained then deported or given pocket money and put up in 3/4 star hotels.
No reply as of yet, I doubt I'll get one and he won't get my vote.
A little known fact on the flagship send them to Rwanda deal...
The UK sends deportee plus approx £300k to Rwanda
In return Rwanda keeps them, sends at least one Rwandan/Congolese settler to these shores and UK gives those individuals settlement cash.
So far Rwanda has recieved around £240 million and no deportees have been sent there.
All a bit strange
Which part do you think that for?
Here's clause 16 of the agreement
16 Resettlement of vulnerable Refugees
16.1 The Participants will make arrangements for the United Kingdom to resettle a portion of Rwanda’s most vulnerable refugees in the United Kingdom, recognising both Participants’ commitment towards providing better international protection for refugees.
And here's the BBC saying 240 million so far
What is the UK's plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/explainers-61782866
So you're suggesting the UK is putting each asylum seeker on a plane with £300k (remembering we've already paid an alleged £240million towards their upkeep to Rwanda) PLUS we take one of them in return and treat the arriving Rwandan to asylum benefits, which will be access to the NHS, schooling, housing, benefits etc?
I need to clarify the 300k as that was stated on Laura Kuensberg show recently and I'll need to go find it but yes to everything else.
The 240 million isn't for upkeep though that's just a fee. It's all there in black and white and I'm not suggesting anything it's a government document that states it
Actually here you go....
UK to pay at least £370m to Rwanda for asylum deal, watchdog says https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68440653
On the LK show they actually added that lot up and divided it up by new govt forecasts on how may would be sent and it came to 300k each.
