    ot mathematics

    lost my dog for a while tonight. my hound saw a hare. 8n half stone set off at 30 mph .
    15 metre of leash ran out. before it jammed .what sort of force nearly ripped my arm off.
    He's back by the way bless him.

    Not sure he could get up to 30mph but assuming he got up to a more reasonable 15mph (24kph or 6.66mps) before the leash ran out in 2.25s, at that point the dog weighing 120lbs (55kgs) would exert a force of around 160 Newtons on your arm.

    just for a laugh. my super fit son in law has a 10 sec start. within 15 secs he is on his arse
