THB is in the Premier League- we’re not !

I knew we should have gone flat out to sign him permanently ,but for whatever reason, it didn’t materialise. He was a major influence in our defence when he was here in our Championship winning season. I like him, I’ve always liked him ,since he walked through the door at Turf Moor. I can only wish him all the best of luck next season. Like all the other teams that get up to the “ Promised Land” ,he will find that it presents a much stiffer, formidable challenge, trying to keep the opposition out. I for one ,will be watching with interest,if he can make the next step up. I really hope he does. For £20m , he could be a real bargain, and asset at the same time.

If my memory serves me correctly Citeh would not sell him to us.

The version I heard BT was that City would have sold him to us but who ever was doing the recruitment thought they wanted to much money, so we went with O'Shea.

I think he'll be found out next season, needs to get rid of the ball quicker

I watched him closely yesterday he was pinging the ball around for fun. One good season next year and he's in the England team without a shadow of a doubt.

I agree with you BT. We were initially told there was a future England player ( if not a captain) in the making when he first joined us. I hope he lives up to the expectation level.

Did the same for us, but as Muric found out,you don't have the same time in the premier league, let's see how many accurate passes he pings when being closed down quickly

You could be right mon ami, what's coming through behind Stones and Maguire doesn't impress me, but what do I know ? I still think Tarkowski could play for England, but Gareth won't have him even carrying the bags.

I think tbh they wanted 35 million and we couldn’t afford that on a singular player or the whole budget on 3 - maatsen and Tella .

For me personally THB has the makings of a very good centre back - but the test will come next year at the highest level
