Except, Smith is an idol and more pertinently a role model to millions, a proportion of whom may see his behaviour as acceptable

Perspective is everything, Andrew. There are so many more important things happening that it is all irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.
Man is annoyed by hurtful comment aimed by another at his wife and slaps him...literally.
Probably not the best way of handling things but I’m inclined to agree with MA...the offender was lucky to receive a blow from an open hand rather than a clenched one.
Since then there’s been a lot of self righteous bollux spoken about how violence is never the answer. It’s never as simple as that and I can think of many scenarios where violence is absolutely the answer...this spat between Smith and Rock though is truly too trivial to warrant all the coverage.

Nothing but a woke fest of cringe anyway.

A good slapping was something new.

As usual, we'll have to agree to differ

Fair enough. Not sure which bit you’re disagreeing with though.

the bit about violence being the answer. If you mean initiating violence, rather then being forced into it to defend yourself

Not got over the banning of the cane yet Mr Anag?

*That is a joke before someone gives me a virtual slap! The cane must never return, unless in mutually agreed ***ual gratification purposes. That's what my headmaster said anyway...

Round here it’s joking that gets you the virtual slap, humour isn’t well received

Lol...I’ve received the cane far more often (half a dozen times) than I’ve dished it out (nil)...always at school and never for se ual gratification purposes. At least I don’t think so, although one of my maths teachers did have a weird leer afterwards.

Seriously though...you’ve brought up school. You try separating two sixte en year olds scrapping...especially when one of them is armed with a house brick...without adopting some level of appropriate violence. It’s all fine lines and I largely accept Andy’s point, but if for instance I hear someone in my house at night then I’m going to confront them and I will be armed, albeit with a now largely redundant cricket bat, and if they get hit with it that’ll be their fault and entirely justified imo.

P.S. Can we really still not use the words s*xual, te en and v*tal?
