    Mark Durnan

The Sun newspaper saying Hearts are set to swoop and sign him on a pre-contract in January.

Absolutely despise pre contracts with a passion . They should be outlawed by all football associations .

IF he signs for Hearts then we've to play them another 2 times as from January . We could play a major part in whether Hearts win the league or get a playoff place .

Would he be welcome at Tynecastle if you scuppers their Premiership chances

    Don't do it Queens/Durns

I would hate to see this move happen, but, after yet another standout performance yesterday I suppose it is only a matter of time before we lose him.

Its rough on a club of our size who get hampered if we or any of our players do well. We have seen it plenty over the years O'Connor , Harris , Dobbie etc. The galling thing to me is that we never seem to be renumerated well for losing them. Maybe the answer is to get our starlets to sign longer contracts on the understanding that if a good enough offer comes Queens way then we won't stand in their way . That way if clubs really want them - and they still have one or two years contract left - then they will pay us for v

Think back to Brora's goal, then try to persuade me that Durnan is a top class centre half.

That wasnt the topic issue here Cresswell, but , as you ask , I would say anyone can make a mistake and that he has done a marvellous job for Queens .

Thinking back...yes, he is the best young centre half I have seen playing for Queens in a long time, perhaps even since Jimmy Kerr.

JRSLEFTPEG, I know what the topic issue was in your original post. I was simply challenging the implication that Durnan's transfer would be a major loss to Queens.

Completely agree with you. He is not top class. Durnan is not ready for English Premiership or La Liga yet. But top class in Scotland? Obviously YES. Certainly belongs in the Scot Premiership.
EVERY young player at any level in Scotland can make mistakes and it is not helpful for their confidence to pounce and slaughter them for any error.

I don't think many Queens fans would describe losing Mark Durnan as anything other than "a major loss".
