    Referees

Everyone seems to agree that the standard of refereeing is very poor these days. So why don't the football authorities try to help them out by making refereeing easier.

    1 - If you're offside, you're offside.

2 - If the ball hits you on the arm/hand whether deliberate or not, it's a penalty/free kick. If a player is talented enough to deliberately hit an opposition player's hand with the ball, then we should encourage it as a skill.

3 - Shouting at and badgering a referee is a straight booking, as in rugby. Do it twice and you're off. Would stop the problem in a week.

These 3 things would make decisions much easier for refs and cause their decisions to be more consistent and have no detrimental effect on the quality of the game.

That's pretty much the way football used to be before about 1970.

    1. Agree completely
    2. Disagree slightly
    3. Agree completely

Also, a straight red card for BLATANT diving.

    I agree with 1 and 3, 2 is a bit dodgy.

Regarding diving, it should be a yellow, but they need to clamp down on it further; if a player goes down in the box, and you dont think its a penalty, then he should be booked for diving.

That should soon cut it out.

    Would agree with all 3.

I'd also suggest the removal of it being a bookable offence to go to your own fans celebrating a goal - especially as we've seen it selectively applied.

For future consideration once the above have been adopted might be sin-binning in certain circumstances
