Your England team for the quarters

If he could Southgate would probably start with nine defenders Kane and Stirling, not saying he's over cautious but....

    Anyway who I think -

    Pickford
    Walker, Stones, McGuire
    Trippier, Phillips, Henderson, Mount, Shaw
    Stirling, Kane.

    Team I would like -

    Pickford
    Trippier Stones, McGuire, Shaw
    Phillips, Mount, Saka, Grealish
    Kane, Foden

I think Ukrain are a rag bag shower that we should thrash, but alas our manager wants to go slowly slowly and win by the odd goal. far to conservative for me.

    Pickford

    Walker
    Stones
    Maguire
    Shaw

    Rice
    Phillips

    Sterling
    Foden
    Grealish

    Kane

I can understand being conservative against top nations but feel we need to take the game to Ukraine and with both Rice and Phillips there is plenty of cover.

No point in changing something that is working. Otherwise, it can come back to haunt you eg the other team may do what you have been doing. If England wants to win this thing they should play as they have.

On paper looks like a 3-1 England win, but much like the dreaded Iceland game, Ukraine will keep going for full 90 mins, have some big, physical players, and decent at corners etc. Sure we will get through, but need to be spot on tackling wise, keep our heads etc.
Tournament wise, its wide open, never a better chance, and we should make the most of Wembley next ( hopefully )

Ukraine looked dead on their feet at the end of their last game, let see how they have recovered - keep them running in the first half and they will be easy picking in the second
