An Igor Vetokele header from a Chris Solly cross on 39 minutes was enough to secure all three points for Charlton and return the team to winning ways after two draws and a loss.

The players coped very well with sustained Reading pressure and wave of attacks throughout both halves with players like Glenny Murray, Jordan Obita, Oliver Norwood and Jamie Mackie all turning the screw but Andre Bikey, ex-Reading, ensured the Charlton defence were on top aided by Stephen Henderson with a string of fine saves.

George Tucudean almost made it 2 up but was foiled by a double-save from Reading Goalie Federici.
