    Big Guns wanting changes AGAIN

So the Big Un's are wanting changes (again) I've just
    heard.

"As part of the “New Deal for Football” PL stakeholders will meet today to discuss changes to traditional Cup competitions, reducing parachute payments, the wealth redistribution in the EFL and financial sustainability !

1.Basically translated as The League Cup is ****e so we'll turn up with our U 21s.
2.Stuff the replays in the FA Cup to protect the Euro chasers.
3.No more Championship PL wannabes wanted or even required via promotion without $$€€¥¥££'s

1.So those Clubs who compete in European competitions would now either not compete in the League Cup or would field under-21 sides then.

2.The PL now want to 'free up space' in an already congested calendar but the Report states that PL clubs do not want the League Cup to be scrapped nor do they wish for FA Cup games to be played in midweek - how thoughtful & kind.

3.Prior to this malarkey the UK Government had warned the PL that they "must deliver hundreds of millions of pounds more to the lower leagues OR face the prospect of being forced to do so by legislation. The EFL apparently have told the PM they want £250 million more," say the Times newspaper.

So when is enough actually 'ENOUGH' for the 'leading' moaning Merry band of Euro Super League protagonist stakeholders clubs then.

Views/opinions anyone & where will Radz & co stand on this £££€€€$$$ issue now that his role model club 'Leicester City' look like relegation fodder and the Pound plummeting against the Dollar ?

I actually used to enjoy the Bus travel for those midweek cup ties in far flung places of the lower leagues & i know my mates at York City always enjoyed the prospect of a match against the 'stars' via the Cups.
For me if your in any competition its there to be won not an offered token player gesture on the team sheet appeaser for the paying public as its becoming a training session & more like an exhibition game sadly.

If you aren't careful you'll end up with American style pro sports. No promotion or relegation. Some lackey that the owners hand pick lording over the league and the fans interests dead last on the priority scale.

The "super league" was basically just an attempt to get rid of promotion/relegation and consolidating the money stream to the "correct teams".

I can think of a number of Oscar Wilde quotes that would be apt but it seems to be one more example of self interest blinkering what might be in the wider interests of the sport as a whole.

Rugby union to some degree has gone down that path and golf in recent times too.

Sad but another example how the successful willingly allow themselves to become detached from the grassroots from which the base of the game is built.

Certain irony that Bielsa (who was so principled and eschewed materialism) turned us from a club where you could get tickets on match days to a position where we have about 20000 on the waiting list for a season ticket.

I guess it will be okay though as we have Liz Truss in charge 😳🕍🙈🙉👀😱

Could be worse. You could have a leader that craps his pants, gets lost wandering around his residence and rants and raves at camera's while telling make believe stories about imaginary jobs and events that never happened. 330 million in a country and that's the best we can do.

Honestly, if they want out of League Cup fantastic, means we'd actually have a chance of winning something!
