    When will they learn?

BS, I think that we’re talking about two different catches. I’m not talking about the catch off Travis Head but the one off Smith that was given as a bye but the replay showed that he had hit it. That was an absolute ‘dolly’.

If you’re talking about the inside edge chance that was no dolly.

That would’ve been a “Worldy” but not beyong sn Alan Knott, Bob Taylor or Rod Marsh.

I actually think Bairstow is too fat for a keeper, too slow with footwork as a result.

I got the names the wrong way round. The ‘dolly’ that I’m referring to was off the left handed Travis Head when he tried to turn it around the corner and it came off the face of the bat. The inside edge off Smith was difficult.Mind you, the one that Root just dropped was another ‘dolly’. Proving very costly.

Loved Alan Knott Mick when I was a kid. Decent batsman as well. Had his moments.

For me, Bob Taylor was the better ‘keeper but not as good a bat.

Bob Taylor, Jack Russell and Alan Knott in that order for me as keepers,

Knott, Russell and Taylor in that order for batsmen.

In terms of which one I’d choose if my life depended on it I’d go for Jack Russell.

Foakes runs them all close in skills but is a far better batsman than any of them.

Our best keeper in over 20 years.
