Lacina Traore expected at West Ham for a medical on Thursday

Get French Football News understands that Lacina Traore will arrive in London on Thursday to complete a medical with West Ham prior to signing a loan deal until the end of the season.

Traore, who has just signed for AS Monaco from Anzhi for just over ?10m (including bonuses) has agreed to be loaned to the struggling Premier League side until the end of the season.

There were several offers on the table, including one from Turkey and from Italy, but West Ham were the side willing to pay the largest portion of the player?s salary, making them AS Monaco?s favoured choice.

A total agreement has been found between Monaco and West Ham for the loan deal we understand.

Any attempt by another club to lodge a last minute bid, unless they considerably top the portion of wages they are willing to pay for Traore, will be rejected.

Are the Permit rules different because it's a loan? Or will he get round the 75% thing coz he's in Ivory Coast squad for the WC?

I really do believe getting this guy in is our only real shot of survival, top striker who is arguably better than andy carroll despite being different type of strikers. Would be a bit of coup.

Presumably he got a work permit to sign for Monaco so a loan from Monaco to us is an EU move...or maybe I have that wrong...who knows.

Could be good news at last .

It seems weird that we can afford to pay the majority of his wages , yet no one has left the club yet. Infact , we just given RVT & CC a new contract too... who's the mystery investor?

Not sure where the info is coming from, but not long to wait until we get an answer if true.

If it gets granted, lets hope he doesn't change his mind between no and then. - view external link
