    15 years ago today

On This Day 15 Years Ago Sir Bobby Robson made his final public appearance at St James' Park before sadly passing away five days later.

I can't help but think how proud he'd of been how Eddie has been doing.

Agreed, Jammy. Sir Bobby would definitely have approved of Eddie.

Pure gent whenever he spoke. Brought back a bit of class and pride.

I agree. Even though he witnessed the beginning of our torture and relegation by he who is now known as the fat b*stard.

Proud to say I was at that game and in fact my avatar is the photo taken by my youngest son of me shaking hands with Sir Bob just before his son wheeled him away.

It was charity game and I felt really sorry for the subs ready to come on at injury time, guests Jimmy Nail and Kevin Whately, in full kit in the black and white of the team they both support. The thoughtless ref blew the whistle right on 90 mins and the two of them just turned heel and disappeared down the tunnel.
