Whelan was only saying what most people were thinking.
Thinking like, " How can the club lose so much money over the past financial year ".
Its not as though we have paid out millions and millions on players, and even a high salary wage bill would not incur such losses.
Another word description for creative accountancy, is FRAUD in my mind.
