dont have too johnny his career stats tells no lies altho he has been at decent youth clubs ie celtic ,brighton ,he has done nothing couldnt hack it at derry who are by no means playing in a high quality league ,had what 10 or so apperances for airdrie in scottish league 1 hardly an endorsement at that level ,the fact he is still young and still learning his trade is why i would sign him but i wont be expecting him to be a great first team regular if he is signed as a main central defender for us in the championship id start to worry about what queens see as quality first 11 players ,for me i want a first 11 of experience players that have experience of premier or challenging for promotion from at least the championship or better then players like josh kerr propping them up while learning his trade with the hope of eventually being one of our better first 11 players thats where i see this signing .

dont get me wrong i have watched his videos of games and can see he is very talanted but still not ready to be a regular starter central defender at championship level ,thats my opinion .

Paul McKay signing for us apparently from Airdrie.

Hope that’s okay Francis. Are we allowed to sign players from a league below ?

Airdrie had the third best defensive record in the first division last season after Partick and Falkirk.Regardless of what league any future players come from, this is the kind of statistic we should be looking at. See what the defence as a whole looks like, then cherry pick the best if possible. Unlikely we will attract any kind of "big team" players, so try to get the best of the rest.
