Renewed our passports online day - 2 people @ £75.50p each, cost £151.00p

Photo's done at post-office cost £11.98p [photo taken by assistant]

Both current passports sent by recorded delivery cost £2.85p

I could have taken my own photo's, which I have done before, but decided to get them done.
some photo's have a key-code on them, so you put the code in when applying online, the
post office at Mexborough, did not have this service, so just e-mailed me the photo's, which
I downloaded, & applied to my online passport[s] application.
Quite easy to do, I just had to send our 2 passports back, the passport office will not proceed
with the application until they receive the passports.

Plus there’s the benefit of integrated systems

If you have to renew your driving licence you can use the digital photo you used for your passport. They use the id photo you’ve already submitted

Renewed mine online about a year ago. Absolute nightmare as for 10 weeks the site showed my expiring one hadn't arrived in the post although US Mail said it had been delivered. No way of contacting UK through email and helpline was just the opposite, kept disconnecting my calls after keeping me in line for ages. Eventually I woke up one day to 3 emails, passport arrived, application processed, new passport issued all in the space of 4 hours.

Pricing is OK though. Just renewed our Green Cards here. $630 each (x4)

Passports for myself & my wife arrived today, all together from filling application form
into to receiving them took 17 days.

    Application's for passports - 27 January

    28 January
Message - To send old passports back, application reference number on a individual envelope x 2
Strange - One address for me, another for my wife. [ But same household select one address ]

Message - Both passports received - 02 February

Message - Both passport applications approved - 08 February

Message - My passport printed - 09 February

    Message - Wife's passport printed - 10 February

Message - Reminder to sign our passports - 10 February

Delivery - Wife's passport arrives early morning via courier - 13 February

Delivery - Both old passports arrive mid-morning, by Royal Mail - 13 February

Delivery - My passport arrives late afternoon view courier - 13 February

Why couldn't they deliver both passports at one go.

    * We had 8 month's left on our passports, but the passport office does not add this on now.

So our passports February 2023 to February 2033 instead of February 2023 to September 2033

But good service on time from application to receiving the passports.
