It seems there was damage before, but is there more now?
If it was Carlisle United supporters, then they should f*uck off. There is doubt about this. The seats were under covers that masked off several rows of seats to be not used. It could be that they were damaged prior to today and Hartlepool United have not prioritised getting them repaired or replaced.

Frank will not like this but I suggest that when video is produced showing actual evidence of Carlisle United supporters doing damage in that away end then the villains should be identified, made to pay for the repairs / replacements and banned from attending all Carlisle United home games for a couple of seasons etc. An away ban is impractical, they may choose to go to away games and be in any part of the ground and the various turnstile operators will probably not check everyone against several photographs.
One of the Hartlepool United owners was taking photographs of the damaged seats after the match. That is not evidence. The seats in question were under the covers that masked off the first few rows. So they were damaged at the end. Were they damaged before yesterday? Is someone at Hartlepool taking the piss?
I suggest that if anyone of the Hartlepool persuasion issues any accusations that person has the burden of proof , thus has to provide evidence of specific guilt, such as video from the moment the gates opened (showing all those masked off seats in good condition) until the last Carlisle United supporter left that away end.
Perhaps no camera was focussed on that away end for the whole time between 2:00pm and 5:00pm, thus there is no case to answer. Next time Carlisle United are at that ground we should bring our 2 best video cameras, set them up where the Hartlepool cameras are for Sky / Youtube and have them monitor that away end with a bloke operating them and able to have them zoom in.
