    Current squad, best Phillips replacement

Details of poss Phillips injury last night unknown, but season long, whenever he has missed games, setup & balance of team suffers big time. MB has tried numerous players etc, none have come close really to being able subs.
Think at present would play Dallas, good all rounder, calm, solid in front of defence.
Llorente, on paper seems the ideal candidate, but who knows
Shack, load of energy, too small / lightweight, not really the extra CB.
Struijk, looks settled, growing into his main CB role - crazy now to play out of position
Jenkins / Huggins, not sure when, but must be given a go, same for Davis.

Not sure why he played on if he had a muscle pull when he first went down.

Most obvious replacement is on loan in Gotts. Hope we don’t move Struijk from CB has he has settled there.

Think Shacks could do a job there as good positional sense, high energy and passes well.
Klich may get the nod as he is always in the top 3 for distance covered.
Most obvious choice is Dallas and play Shacks too but further up.

If Koch was for he might be good there as can run with the ball and good range of. Passing.

None of them is the answer.

Klich is nowhere near good enough defensively.
    Shackleton just isn't good enough.
    Dallas isn't suited to it.
    Struijk isn't mobile enough

It is one of the few criticisms I have of the club that we never replaced Forshaw, he was that replacement.

True - think Struijk has the most potential to do it but need him more at the back where he brings stability.

Anyone noticed the symmetry in the table

    10 wins 10 losses GF 38 GA 38

    We sit in 10th

Certain balance - maybe Bielsa is yoda and channelling the force 😎

Struijk needs to keep playing centre back so he can grow and develop, don't want to see him in midfield anymore. Hell stick Cooper in there, he is good at reading passes and getting infront of people.

Bielsa clearly wasn't confident enough to bring on any of the following last night, Shackleton got five minutes
    24Davis
    30Gelhardt
    35Cresswell
    47Jenkins
    52Huggins

which is a bit worrying, I am sure one or two of the starting line up could have done with ten minutes less and they need some big time exposure.

Think you have to change up the entire formation. something that I doubt MB would be willing to do.

think you have to move Dallas to that spot and bring up one of the pups to replace him in the formation.

Thought we looked a lot more solid with 3 CB and wing backs pushing on last night - must make it easier for the CDM too.

Arsenal only play one up top typically so probably back to a flat back 4.

I really though JG might get 10 minutes. Also when Shackleton came on he was pushed to RB.

By the end we looked comfortable so if ever there was a game to blood a few surely last night was as good as any - hey ho.

Gotts seems to be getting rave reviews at Salford

Gotts will be one who is built up then sold. He isn't good enough or he'd be here.
