Def a good move.
Will also support other players coming in from the continent.
Hire a ‘team manager’.
This is a position serious clubs have to ensure that the whole squad is taken care of off the field.
Dealing with everything from finding a house for new arrivals, plumber for players & generally looking after wellfare.
We're bringing in Andrea Romeo from AC Milan. Great news to help Sandro & wife to ensure that they get comfortable on Tyneside.

Exactly! Tonali is the first and certainly won't be the last.
We've always had issues with certain players Remi Cabella for example was excellent before and after being on Tyneside. Just hated here due to being dumped in a hotel alone and left to figure everything out himself.
Those days are long gone thankfully!
The thread title is spot on, Rage.
Really good to see from the club.
Well done by our owners! If players from Europe can settle in that Liverpool ****hole, we should be making things as comfortable as possible for our payers as well!
Good although I would have thought a local person would be better???
I guess the team working with Andrea Romeo will all be local people with 'the knowledge' however being multilingual, experience in the needs of young professional sports men & their families with millionaire needs is as important as being familiar with the location culture.
Once again I'm sure the team built around this department will have a mixture of talented local and international people to ensure the best out come for the players. Keeping them happy off the field means better results for the team on the pitch which in turn makes sure that the club assets will increase in value.
Long may the professional rebuild of the club continue!
Massively important role this. Settling in could mean the difference between a disgruntled player/spouse with tranefer request or a 20 goal season. Really really smart move. I agree though, would have thought a local with multi lingual skills would have been better.
Ha ha. Fair point and I'd imagine many more unexpected layers needed to care for the modern player that would need specialist knowledge. Tax, banking, investments, language courses, nutrition, shopping, everyday plumbing, electrical, building work, cleaners, cooks, travel, documentation to travel, driving licenses, passports etc etc, avoiding accidently straying into Sunderland
