    Southgate being a realist

he has said if he doesn't win the Euros it could be the end of his tenure as England manager even though the FA want him for the 2026 World Cup. Even more shocking is that Man U view him as a Ten Hag replacement, that should be another laugh.

I will never understand what people see in Southgate. Whilst I don’t watch England (too stressful), he appears to be taking a crop of good talent and suffocating them. Why would you want that at club level. Beyond me!

Announced this morning that ten Hag is staying so will Gareth change his mind about voluntary retirement?

Gareth has absolutely no doubt that the England team under his stewardship will finish in the top five of the group.

I used to work with a "Yes man". He was absolutely useless at his job but brownnosed at every opportunity.

He reminds me a lot of Southgate, eventually the paymasters realised he was crap and sacked him on some petty misdemeanour.

    Fingers crossed.

I'm surprised at the number of his fanboys in the media still onside with Gareth, lots of them still tipping England to win despite the confusion over who will be playing where and the debacle of the Iceland game. I must be missing something.

I certainly am in this case, Oliver Holt in the Mail has come up with TEN reasons why England will win it. Help me out mon ami, I can't think of one.

We have the attacking talent Sinkov to win the tournament but as I hinted to BT the other day - the stars need to align and you need a bit of luck along the way to win any tournament- whoever’s in charge of the team.
