We play 3 times before Wrexham kick a ball in the league again. The table might look different with the pressure back on them in a few weeks time.
I see Woking v Torquay has been postponed tonight, but Halifax at home to Scun thorpe goes ahead.
A defeat and a red card or two for Halifax would be nice.
It really is a tough ask to expect a repeat of the first half of the season or to better it. It applies to both us and Wrexham. That's not me being negative it's just how high the bar is set and how ridiculously good a teams got to be this season to win the title.
We got 57 points from the first half of the season from 23 games. That includes only 1 defeat and 6 draws. We dropped 12 points. It's basically 2.48 points per game. That's unsustainable long term for any team.
Even now Wrexham are top it's dropped to 2.3 points per game for the title. That would mean they would finish on 105 points. Cheltenham were the last team to finish on 100+ points at this level back in the 15/16 season. They won 30 games, drew 11 and lost five. Other title winners have won 30 games such as;
Stockport P46, W30, D4, L10, Pts 94
Lincoln P46, W30, D9, L7, Pts 99
Cheltenham P46, W30, D11, L5, Pts 101
Therefore this season I think we need to win at least another 12 games from our remaining 19 games to get the milestone 30 wins to stand a chance of winning the title regardless of what Wrexham do. Wrexham need 10 wins from 19 games. Both of us could push each other to make it more than 30 wins. Not winning the title by winning 30 games would be sickening for any club.
What a rollercoaster this could be and how big could that game be at Wrexham in April?
Exactly, why on earth should we change what we’re doing, we didn’t at home. They were literally chasing shadows the first 35 minutes and when they did launch long balls we dealt with it. It’s like their fans saying we'd better get some quick nimble players in to deal with their movement and quick passing. The team that comes out on top will be the team that has implemented their game more than the other, contrasting styles but after half a season nothing between them bar 3 points.

What’s worse is that if it did happen. 1 team would definitely not be promoted having achieved 100points. It would take some recovery to go again next season.
My only hope if we don’t win the league is that it’s sorted 3 or 4 games before the end of the season so that the players can mentally get themselves right. Nothing would be worse than any last day shenanigans. Look at Wrexham last season.
