Summer 2023....... 5 loan players return to their respective clubs and 5 senior players out of contract...... Could be a busier than expected January transfer window...

I have a feeling that some of the loanees will want stay. They are part of a successful team and they are getting regular match time.
We shall see and it may be a pious hope on my part.
I do think that the January window is going to be interesting. Will we sell/ remove some players (what is the point of retaining Long?). I suggest that it may give some indication as to the summer.
Can't see a problem, even if all the loanees and out of contracts depart we can still put this team out,
Muric
Roberts, Egan-Riley, Taylor, Vitinho
Benson, Brownhill, Cork, Cullen, Zaroury
Rodriguez
With these on the bench, BPF, Bastien, Churlinov, McNally and Twine.
Plenty of scope for several more signings and several more loan players, all easily manageable next summer.
That's the great unknown isn't it, what if, as seems likely, we're in the PL next season. Massive upgrade in opposition, totally different financial scenario, one which we never really coped with last time, and despite Sean's annual miracles, it did for us in the end. I would imagine that VK, after perhaps one season of trying to run a PL club on the budget he'll be given, will be glad to get the feck out.
The way Pace and Kompany colluded to get us to where we are now from where we were gives me confidence in the ALK project mon ami. The trick will be to somehow keep VK.
