    arbroath 1 weegie warlords 2

Better if not great display by the lads today , 2 poor goals against and shocking refereeing aided to our downfall , dont now how many seen there no 3 , Burns , secounds after being booked punching our Ryan in the back 2-3 yards in front of linesman , no action taken and he scores what was the winning goal . absolutely bemused as to how little the officials got right during the game , anyho on the positive side better performance , 1st goal , which i missed and good to see the captain back also new striker Vitoria looks promising

A better display today, tho when it's being compared to the Montrose game anything would be better.
We still look very disjointed, the long ball into the channel is clearly not working, there's too much of a gap between the front two, and too much of a gap between the strikers and midfield, we also seem very indirect and tippy tappy about the midfield, allowing the opposition to get back behind the ball and be organised.

We really need to grind out some sort of result next week to stop the rot and get the confidence back before it's totally shot.

It's complete sh#te guys! There's very little to take from today's crud of a football game. Queens Park deserved their victory. It could have been 3/4-0. Guaranteed loss next week at Berwick and that's being positive...

There's plenty to take from the game.
Johnstone had a solid game defensively and offensively.
Whatley strolled his little cameo even though he's not fully fit.
    Gold was much improved.

The problem is that the negative at the right channel of our defence was ruthlessly exploited today. Every bit of danger came from that area.

No one in this league looks like running away with it. If we can get that first win under our belts (and we had the chances today) it might spark a bit of a run and we can get ourselves back in the mix.

Surprised to see Wilson at right back, no surprise then that both QP goals came from attacks down their left. Only started to look better after the subs came on. Not impressed by Gold, Ryan or Reid and Grehan is way too slow for a striker. We did have a few attempts at goal, but most were straight at the keeper, another keeper who, as noted by Steeplejack the other week, was time wasting after the first 5 minutes and should have been yellow carded by the ineffectual referee. At least we only lost 2 goals and scored at last, a good header by Victoria from a Bobby Linn cross, but too little too late.

I though "possession" wise we played okay yesterday, the only thing was we had no cutting edge and they were more direct and clinical (apart from their 2 goals cannot think of Fleming making many saves?)
Their keeper through luck/bad finishing save 3/4 goal attempts and Grehan hit the bar where he should have scored so WE WERE making goal scoring chances.
IMO we have to try and keep a settled team not changing the XI every week, pre-season we have proved we have a decent squad (maybe an experienced speedy forward short) but performances/results were very good in pre-season, leading up to the Rangers game we had won 4 lost 0 goals for 9 against 0, I know pre-season is different to the "bread & butter" but the performance against Hearts proved we are a decent team, so what has went wrong?
Is it has to be down to tactics and changing the team? 1 up front to me is no use, 2 up front is a must (like Shagger/Murray last season), Hay, Clarke against the Arabs was superb so was Reid so they

Agree with most of what AFC1320 says and if Grehan is to be in the team he needs someone with a bit of pace to play off him. Might be worth giving Vitoria or Hester a chance. We really need someone who knows how to defend at right back. It's no good getting forward if you can't get back when possession is lost. To get the best from Bobby Linn you can't ask him to cover for a defender, he is far better when he can have a free role in a forward position. Whately brought some composure when he came on, hope he will soon be fully fit and avoid injury for the rest of the season. But for some poor finishing QP could have had another couple of goals. Sadly, I can't see us getting a result at Berwick next week but hope I'm proved wrong about that.
