    Being a football fan.

Some people hate the sport, some are indifferent, but a lot of us love it. I think Nick Hornby presented it well in his book Fever Pitch and Bill Shankley gave the fans' extreme view. “Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.”
For true supporters you are predestined to form an allegiance with a team and from thenceforth your life is ****ed. The agony and the ecstasy is an understatement and so it is with Burnley. The last few weeks have been a typical rollercoaster of emotions for diehard fans. you just convince yourself that relegation is inevitable and so accept it then pow!, two surprising wins and hope is rekindled, then two poor results and you are back to despair.
The only unsurprising thing is that at the end of the season we will still be supporting the team we love, hope will be rekindled whatever the outcome.

I can't support any other - Kriti.... as for me, the connections fixed, it can't be undone...It brought family together, gave us a common focus, and with the remote bunch I had, that was something special, I guess they could forget, let their hair down as it were - nothing else came close....and Turf Moor did it, that my "allegiance".....of course, the names are there, but they come and go, as do the tables, it changes nothing.

    Cheers.

My life has also been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, the only common denominator has been my love of Burnley Football Club remained unimpaired and undiminished.

Approaching my twilight years the passion still burns undeniably strong. My Tuesday evening was ruined because we conceded two late goals against Leicester City.

My youngest son and eldest grandson shared my great disappointment; it seems like I have trapped them both in the web of joy and despair of being emotionally attached to the Clarets.

I'm not experiencing any guilt whatsoever though, three trips to Wembley, avoiding relegation from the Football League and watching one of the greatest teams in footballing history has been more than worth the thousands of pounds of sweat, despair, joy and money I have spent during my lifetime following probably the best team n the world. (How many other fans can honestly claim that?) COYC!
