One of our main issues to me is the likes of Riviere, Haidria, Colback etc. on high wages. If we could shift those it would free up a lot of wage space.
I agree very pooor signings but is this bc Rafa wants to sign players that are worth £5m or is it bc Ashley won't give him the funds? Everyone knows it's the second so why Rafa is getting slated off certain fans for signing sh*te?
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
It's like Putting a Peugeot 206 in a formula 1 race............ we are getting left so far behind!!!
So blame Ashley the one who has £30m profit from last season plus the £9m off florian thovian deal £39m and we have spent less than that in this transfer Brighton and Huddersfield haven't made any profit from selling and they spent £30+
ASHLEY OUT!!!

Signing Murphy for 12m yet Perez is heading back to Spain for the same price, same with Townsend a proven premier league player.
Thats does not answer the question of why other newly promoted teams are signing in same range as us and Huddersfield doing ok - no complainants from Huddersfield or Brighton managers about lack of funding - budgets are tight - you cannot keep blaming MA.
Maybe if Rafa had of concentrated on 3 maybe 4 good signings, re 1 DEF/1MID/1ATT instead of chasing goalkeepers and a list as long as your arm we might not be in this position.
As Jammy said, wage constraints play a big part in this. You have to balance the books or MA wants to and it's his club. Remember we spent big last year to get promoted and still made a profit but maybe the cost of players/agents fees/add-ons and wages just mean we cannot do that this year.
Of course the counter argument is that now MA had arrived yet again on the gravy train you would think he would want to protect his seat on that train and make sure it is booked for the foreseeable future. However, we are talking about the enigma that is MA!
What I do not understand is the players, they have chances on goal yet cannot seem to find the PL net, yet the Champ net was no problem, or are they made differently, smaller? They have to take some responsibility.
Anyway we can only hope the train leaves the platform soon.
Whenever he got a game last season he scored, the hattrick in europe as well
Unfair to compare Murphy and Perez - two different positions (i thought) one a striker and one a winger. Yes we badly need a striker but also needed the winger.
Rafa is buying. He has funds to buy but he also has to sell to buy.
Which players is he buying that's worth 5 million?
Ashley stated what was what, whether you accept it or not.
He said Rafa can have the funds that the club generate.
He then says it's not enough and we all know this and so does Rafa.
He also says that this club is Newcastle United and it doesn't generate that sort of cash that can fight the big boys, because we are basically taking on countries. And in a way, he's right.
Rafa's not getting slated for signing crap. He's getting told to stop whining and also to stop being so negative in conference and on the pitch with his team selection and tactics.
I want Rafa to succeed but I also want him to give the fans something to shout about in doing so.
So far behind who?
So far behind the top sugar daddy clubs?
The best of the rest of them are on a wing and a prayer and dependent on expensively bought players with high wages doing the business for them.
Then there's us, the newbies having to start all over again and ensure that we can make a fist of the first season back to give us the funds to push on with the TV money, etc.
We can blame whoever we want to but it's not going to change the scene in terms of what funds are available, of which you or I do not know what is available.
All we know is, there's not 100 or 150 million available for players, as Ashley said.
Rafa bought the players and he shouldn't be under any illusions about signing expensive players on sickening wages, at all, yet alone at this stage.
The money that the bigger clubs are spewing on players is not investment. It's cheating. It's simply cheating.
If clubs genuinely had to run in house on fair play in a genuine manner, then we would be competing soon enough.
Let's see Rafa show his management genius and take us to the next step of his tenure by creating the superstars over a few seasons by turning good players into great players and not be reliant on trying to quick fix on a whim.
Apparently Rafa wants Jovetic still.
Lets see what we got when the window shut.
