Fixture congestion .. the FA are at it again ...

If, or more like it when Wigan beat MK Dons (well, that's knackered that cup run - tempting fate)we are drawn to play Crystal Palace on weekend 25 and 26 January.

Saturday we are already playing Barnsley, so Sunday will be Crystal Palace. 2 games in 2 days. Consecutive.

But Uwe has got it and them under control.

That proves it all. They want us out, match fixing is alive and well.

Remember last season - 4 games in 10 days including a famous cup final ... Arsenal had 1 game in 10 days.

On the positive side at least we don't have to play both games on the same day.

There's always two days at least between games. If we go through to Round Four, the Barnsley game will be postponed and join the Sheff Wed fixture as a game in hand.

I hope Wigan do go through. Not many teams have won the FA Cup twice in a row, but the feeling is keep a hold of the Cup for as long as the draw is reasonably kind to us.

Going out to say Chelsea away is respectful, going out to MK Dons when we were drawn at home isn't really. But we haven't. I hope it's our best team on Tuesday and that the players are motivated.

Surely you must have noticed by now whenever we play at home in the cup we always struggle whether we play a top team or a lower league team. Our opponents always seem to have the game of their lives as they are playing away from home against a massive team of the likes they only get the chance to play maybe once in a couple of seasons. That and the fact our home crowds are a bit tame and low in numbers due to whatever reasons.
Maybe I'm just stating the obvious?

Contrast the Wembley flag waving people willing the players on from Wigan to the home game against MK Dons.
Home advantage should be taken. Money isn't everything. I don't care how, but the home ends should be full with those sleeping Wigan fans willing the team on.
The motivation to prevent three goals in any home game is down to the manager. There ain't no excuse really for schoolboy defending and soft goals at the level we are aiming for.

It hink Uw made it clear what he thought. They'll be. Upfor the next one. Might not win as MK Dons are decent but there will be serious effort.
