I remember years ago when some fans would complain saying the club didn't want promotion-and then got promoted to The Championship.
Well Smurthwaite told a Vale forum last night that they don't want promotion as their gates can't support it so he prefers to be a top end League 1 team to a bottom Championship one.
So that's their season over then!

Norm has already said this season that the crowds aren't as big as they budgeted for, although he blamed the other guy for setting that target.
Anyway, a bit later on in the meeting, he also said this:
The Chairman tells fans: "I'm the bank. You should be more worried about me having a stroke than anything else. If I drop dead, you are shafted."
